Newquay has such a wide variety of restaurants and pubs, some of them have been here for ages others have only popped up recently. We have tried to visit as many of them as we can, and along with previous guests we have compiled the most popular below for you. Please do let us know if you would like any restaurants booking for the duration of your stay and we will happily arrange..
Barefoot at the beach consists of a downstairs dining and bar area and an upstairs restaurant with views across Newquay bay. Throughout the day Barefoot offers a space that’s both family and dog friendly with a menu built around fresh, home-cooked ingredients all at a reasonable cost, including everything from pulled smoked lamb and Peruvian fish chowder to pizzas and sandwiches. By night Barefoot transforms into a sophisticated yet laid back space, which combined with a huge selection of drinks as well as boasting the largest selection of gins in Newquay. There is often live music with either bands or DJ’s there to entertain you.
The Boathouse is a wonderful restaurant situated down in the harbour and the views from here never fail to please. The Boathouse offers a wide variety of fresh fish dishes and as they strive to always use the freshest and most seasonal ingredients, their menu is always changing to suit. Whether you want a simple but tasty Fish and Chips, a Crab to yourself or a Fruit de Mer to share, the Boathouse will definitely not disappoint.
Over looking the beach with exceptional views across Watergate Bay, Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen offers a unique blend of Italian influenced food, knowledgeable, friendly service and an inspiring commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives. Slightly more expensive than other’s we have suggested but it is definitely worth it if you’re celebrating a special occasion.
The Fish House is a new restaurant in Newquay located at Fistral beach. The inspiration for their food comes straight from the sea, using locally caught fish and shellfish. They create rustic dishes
with authentic flavours and many of the top chefs we see on TV have put their support behind this wonderful restaurant. With a selection of curries, pastas, soups and other dishes, there is something for everyone.
Kahuna is a Pan Asian restaurant located near to the train station. With a tropical modern Asian décor, it creates a comfortable relaxed dining experience. Their menu is great for those who are looking to try something new or for those who simply want to reawaken their travelling culinary experiences. They also deliver a really good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Little Italy is a fantastic small family restaurant. They serve delicious stone baked pizzas, with a variety of toppings all made fresh in house. They do also have a pasta menu and the special pasta changes daily. All of their pasta is also made fresh in house.
The Noodle Kitchen is a Japanese, Pan Asian restaurant in the centre of town. It’s opposite Poundland and can be easily missed if they don’t have the sign out the front. Think of it as Newquay’s take on Wagamamas. They offer a variety of fresh, healthy dishes that should please even the pickiest of eaters. Whilst you are there why not enjoy one of their delicious cocktails at the cocktail bar.
Overlooking the iconic Fistral beach, Rick’s casual and laid-back restaurant serves his famous fish and chips as well as dishes inspired by his travels around Asia, including Goan Chicken Curry, Lamb Karahi, Pad Thai Noodles, Nasi Goreng and Vegetable Makhanawala. Many of these dishes are taught at his Seafood Cookery School.
The Stable at Fistral has breath taking, panoramic views over Fistral beach. Watch the surf from the balcony or nestle beside the log fire inside and catch the dramatic winter storms. They offer the biggest supply of cider in Newquay and produce some of the best pies and pizzas. The Stable provides a completely separate vegan menu so there are plenty of options here for those that don’t eat meat.
